Rewards for everyone

As the Rewards and Payments People, we strive to make rewards and payments easy to send and awesome to receive—for as many people as possible. That’s why we prioritize accessibility. The ongoing efforts outlined here serve users with sensory, cognitive and mobility disabilities, and will benefit users of all abilities.

Tango's approach to web accessibility

Advancing our accessibility efforts is always top of mind. Tango leverages the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and section 508 of The Rehabilitation Act.

The pillars of accessibility

We don’t view the WCAG standards as a checklist, rather we use it as a starting point to provide the best experience we can for all users. Our team follows the four pillars of accessibility outlined in the WCAG to guide our efforts.

Perceivable

Our products will not place any barriers to accessing the application and content.

Operable

Our products will provide a great user experience for a variety of devices, including input devices—like keyboards or navigation hardware—assistive technology, or on mobile.

Understandable

Our products will use content and functionality that can be easily understood.

Robust

Our products will work across different platforms, technologies, and devices within reasonable limits.

Accessibility testing

Part of our approach to web accessibility is testing to ensure the improvements we make are effective for the people we serve.

Automated testing

We use third-party apps and extensions to perform automated testing on our platform.

Manual testing

Our team performs manual in-house testing using the same assistive technology some users may leverage.

Remote testing

We’re considering remote testing in the future. This would involve a focus group of people who have disabilities and may use assistive technology to test our digital choice product.

The latest updates

Our team continuously works to update our products to make them more accessible. Below are the latest updates we’ve made to our choice products:

  • Navigate and interact with the product with just a keyboard
  • Navigate and interact with the product using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver)
  • Ensure the proper color contrast
  • Zoom-in capabilities up to 300%
